Mrs. Belle Adams Hoffman, former superintendent of the Phelps hospital at Macomb, was found dead Sunday night in the Fort Dearborn hotel in Chicago as the result of an overdose of medicine taken for a chronic ailment. She had recently been appointed superintendent of nurses at the Auburn Park hospital and was the former holder of a similar position in a hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She served two years as superintendent of the Phelps hospital and was quite well known in Schuyler county.
