MARY JANE (BURRELL) HARMON

Mrs. Jane Harmon Dies In Peoria; Burial Sheldons Grove

Mrs. Mary Jane Harmon died at the home of her son, G. W. Harmon in Peoria, Wednesday of last week at 7:30, aged 81 years, 9 months and 12 days. Death was caused by paralysis.

Mrs. Harmon was born in Ohio, Mar. 10, 1839 and came to Illinois with her parents in early childhood. She was united in marriage to James L. Harmon at the age of 18 and to them were born six sons and one daughter, namely: S. D. and G. W. Harmon of Peoria, Charles of Canton, James of Sheldons Grove, Mrs. J. E. Hughes of Astoria, Carlton of Adair, one son dying in infancy.

Mrs. Harmon resided in Sheldons Grove for many years. About five years ago she went to Peoria, where she has since resided. Her husband died about 12 years ago. She is survived by one brother, David Burrell of Peoria and one sister, Mr. A. E. Lane of Browning.

The deceased united with the M. E. church at Sheldons Grove about 40 years ago.

Funeral services were held at the Sheldons Grove church Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. John Davis. Burial in the cemetery near by.
