GEORGE HATCH

Avon Farmer Killed

George Hatch aged 63, well known farmer, died at about 8 o’clock at his home near Avon Tuesday night from the effects of injuries sustained when his skull was fractured by a flying slab of lumber from a portable saw mill on his farm, a quarter of a mile from Avon, late Tuesday afternoon.

Mr. Hatch was clearing some timber from his place and sawing up the logs. As a log went through, a slab broke off and caught on the saw which hurled it back, striking Mr. Hatch square in the face. He never regained consciousness.

George Hatch was a member of the town board and highly esteemed. He is survived by seven grown children. His wife died about a year and a half ago. — Lewistown Record.
