BROWNING — William Humphrey, son of William and Rachel Humphrey was born in Browning township, August 6, 1860. Departed this life, April 13, 1920, being aged 59 years, 8 months, 7 days.
He was united in marriage to Miss Martha Wilhelm. To this union were born eight children: Mrs. Mary Davis of Beardstown, Mrs. Bessie Mathis, Mrs. Bertha Davis and William of Browning and Elmer and Inez at home. Two children having preceded the father. Deceased has been a constant sufferer for two years and seriously ill the past two months.
Mr. Humphrey has lived most of his life near Browning and leaves besides his children and companion a host of friends to mourn the loss.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the M. E. church, conducted by Rev. Flavel Anderson.
