Joseph Howard an aged and well known resident, died Wednesday night from a complication of diseases. He had been in failing health for some time.
Mr. Howard was born August 18, 1850 at Summum. He was aged 69 years, one month and 6 days. For several years he was engaged as meat cutter in a meat market in this city.
He married Miss Rachel Babcock, Oct. 6, 1870 at Summum. To them one child was born, Mrs. Zadie Falkenstein of Astoria, who with his aged wife survive to mourn his death.
The funeral services were held Saturday at 10:30 at the home, conducted by Rev. J. E. Fry. Interment in the Astoria cemetery.
