Gets Final Call

Mrs. Eliza Howard Died At Home of Daughter, Mrs. Edw. Wilcox, Eola, Sunday Morning; Funeral Tuesday.

Mrs. Eliza Howard, widow of Henry Howard, and pioneer resident of Fulton county, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward Wilcox, Eola, Illinois, Sunday morning at 8 o’clock.

Mrs. Howard’s maiden name was Eliza Shawgo. She was born in Woodland township, Nov. 13, 1846, age at time of her death 72 years, 8 months and 14 days.

She was united in marriage to Henry Howard in 1857 and to them were born six children; five survive, namely: Charles, and Ross of Astoria, Loren and Mrs. Edw. Wilcox of Eola and Don of Summum.

The deceased had been failing in health for about five months. About a month ago she went to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wilcox at Eola, where she received the very best of care. Her husband died May 30, 1918.

The deceased was well known in Astoria and was held in high esteem by her many friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 o’clock p.m., at the late residence, conducted by Rev. J. E. Fry. Burial in Astoria cemetery.
