Erwin W. Herman, aged 20 years, a son of George Herman of this city, was accidentally drowned near Bittinger, Adams county, Penn., Sunday evening, July 8th. The accident occurred in a stone quarry where the young man was learning to swim. His mother is dead and when he became of age he was to inherit a legacy of some $5,000. The young man visited his father here a year or two ago and for a time was employed in the Argus office.
