ELIZABETH (KELLEY) HAMER

Elizabeth Hamer

VERMONT — Died at her home in this place on Wednesday, April 4th, of apoplexy, Mrs. Elizabeth Hamer (nee Kelley) very suddenly. She had been in good health until within less than an hour before her death. Some months ago she had a similar attack while at church. The last one was fatal before a physician could reach her. Miss Kelley was a native of Kentucky, born in 1832 and came to this vicinity with her parents. She was united in marriage to Mr. John Hamer in 1848, he having died some years ago. While in her youth she united with the Christian church and her actions and intercourse with neighbors has always been such as to mark the life of a true follower of Christ. She was foremost in building up the cause of the church, temperance and Sabbath school work. The funeral occurred from her late home the following Saturday and was largely attended.
