Mary Husted Hopping, wife of Gideon Jeremiah Hopping, died at the family residence, Pleasant township, Fulton county, Illinois, at four o’clock Monday morning September 3, 1894, aged sixty-four years. She was a church member for forty-eight years, and was regarded as a consistent christian by those who knew her daily life. For several months she had been a terrible sufferer from injuries received in a fall. Six sons and two daughters with the husband mourn mother’s and wife’s departure. Rev. N. H. Kane conducted the funeral services at Union church, and a large concourse of friends laid the remains to rest in the Union cemetery.
