Died, at his home in Port Richmond, New York, on September 8th, 1893, Mr. Henry M. Holmes, after a long and severe illness, aged 26 years, 4 months and 19 days.
These brief lines record the great sorrow of a lady who is familiar to the people of Astoria and vicinity. Miss Millie J. Dixon was married to Henry M. Holmes only two years ago and she is thus early left a widow. Miss Millie and Venia Dixon lived a few miles east of town and were left orphans by the death of their father, Stewart Dixon. They had a large circle of friends and acquaintances here who will sincerely sympathize with Mrs. Holmes in her severe trial.
