He was born Oct. 13, 1922, a son of Harold and Lila Pratt Greer. He married Marjorie Hall, who preceded him in death.
Also preceding him in death is one brother, Russell Greer.
Surviving are one son, James (and Teresa) Greer of Peoria; one sister, Margaret Esslinger of Ipava; and one grandson, Jason Greer of Bloomington.
He was a nursing home administrator in Avon, and Mount Sterling, for many years. He was a member of United Methodist Church and the Illinois Harness Horseman Racing Association.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Dale Gadberry officiating. Burial was in Ripley Cemetery.
