He was born Feb. 21, 1954, in Centerville, Iowa, a son of Paul and Bettine Gilliland. They preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife Terri Gilliland; two children, Todd (and Wendy) Gilliland of Macomb and Tiffany (and Brian) Wade of Moweaqua; one brother, Doug Gilliland of Tyler, Ala.; two sisters, Janice (and Dave) McSpadden of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Vikki (and Don) Hunt of Centerville, Iowa; and six grandchildren.
He preached for 33 years with local ministries in Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska and Illinois. He worked at TNT Communications (U.S. Cellular) in Rushville for 24 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday at the Macomb campus of The Crossing. The service will begin at 4 p.m. with doors opening at 3 p.m. Family visitation will follow. Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to The Kissing Well, a mission started by their son and family based in Kampala, Uganda, in which Tim and Terri have devoted themselves for the past eight years.
