Nancy GreeneNancy Lu Greene, 73, of Rushville died at 2:42 p.m. Dec. 26, 2016, in Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

She was born June 15, 1943, in Rushville, a daughter of Chester Ora and Jane Genevieve Thomas Rinehart. She married James Dale Greene on Dec. 15, 1963, in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Randy Dale Greene of Chatham and Gregory Allen (and Kelly) Greene of Rushville; two sisters, Tamara Jane (and Clarence) Collins of Las Vegas, Nev., and Deborah Ann (and Richard) Vancil of Sun City, Ariz.; and nine grandchildren.

She graduated from Rushville High School in 1961. She attended Springfield School of Beauty Culture in Springfield, graduating in March of 1962. She then attended Western Illinois University from 1962-64.

She began her beauty career with Clarice Bartlett in the basement of Moreland and Devitt Drug Store, before moving to the Hester House Antiques Building on Lafayette Street. She later joined the ladies at Liberty Street Hairstylist, retiring in 2015 due to ill health.

She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rushville, where she served as a deacon, mentored in the Baptism classes, and was a member of the Morning Glory Group.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at her church with Reverend John Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville.
