Larry A. Goodin, 77, of Vermont died at 12:37 a.m. Jan. 29, 2014, at Unity Point Healthcare-Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born Nov. 12, 1936, in Canton, a son of Ernest and Blanche Burns Goodin. He married Linda Chenoweth on June 26, 1955, in Ipava. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Gordon (and Jean Harvell) Goodin of Navarre, Fla.; one daughter, Gina (and Tom Graboski) Goodin of Coral Gables, Fla.; one brother, Dr. Robert B. (and Barbara “Bobbie”) Goodin of Virginia; and four grandchildren.
He was a farmer.
He was a graduate of VIT High School in 1954 where he was a Star State Farmer for FFA in 1954. He was later awarded the American Farmer FFA Degree in 1955.
He was a member of Astoria Christian Church.
Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Kevin Kessler officiating. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery.
