Margaret GrayMargaret S. Gray, 75, of Canton, formerly of Lewistown, died at 8 a.m. Aug. 10, 2011, at Renaissance Care Center in Canton, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born July 10, 1936, in Windber, Pa., a daughter of G. Scott and Etta Kendig Hissong. She married John W. "Bill" Gray on April 17, 1967, in Palmyra, Mo. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1991.

She also was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Surviving are two sons, Scott W. Gabel of Canton and John R. (and Erin) Gray of Germantown Hills; and three grandchildren.

She served in the U.S. Army as a nurse.

She was a registered nurse throughout her life. She trained to be a nurse at Philadelphia General Hospital in Pennsylvania. She worked 27 years at Graham Hospital as a registered nurse where she also was a weekend house supervisor.

Services were held Saturday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Reverend Kenny Bloyd officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery with military rites conducted by Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and American Legion Bishop Post 1.
