Louise Garrison

L. Louise Garrison, 101, of Orange City, Fla., formerly of Rushville, died June 2, 2010, at the home of her daughter in Orange City.

She was born Nov. 20, 1908, the daughter of Clyde and Bertha Russell Brown in Buena Vista Township, Schuyler County. She married Franklin D. Garrison Sr. on June 7, 1930, in Monmouth. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1975.

Also preceding her in death were two sons, Franklin D. Garrison Jr. and Harry R. Garrison; one brother, Robert Brown; and two grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia Garrison of Orange City, Fla., and Joan G. (and George J.) Lewis of Quincy; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

She graduated from Rushville High School and Western Illinois State Teacher’s College in Macomb, with bachelor of arts degree in Eduation.

She was a life member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and a member for many years of the Women’s Federation both in Rushville.

Services were held Tuesday at Wood Funeral Home in Rusvhille with Rev. John E. Sowers officiating. Burial was in the Bethany Cemetery north of Rushville.
