IRIS L. (MEADOWS) GOSSAGE

Iris Gossage

Iris L. Gossage, 76, of Browning, died at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 27, 2010, at her home.

She was born Nov. 23, 1933, in Banbury, Oxfordshire, England, a daughter of Tom and Ethel Allen Meadows. She married Paul Gossage on May 31, 1952, in Banbury, Oxfordshire, England. He preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1984.

She also was preceded in death by two sons, Raymond Gossage Sr. and David Gossage; one granddaughter, Jennifer Gossage; one grandson, Raymond Charles “RC” Gossage Jr.; one sister, Rose Margaret Meadows; and one brother, Thomas Meadows; and several nieces and nephews.

Surviving are one son, Dean (and Paula) Gossage of Rushville; one daughter, Rosemarie Gossage of Browning; two brothers, Frederick (and Jean) Meadows and Anthony (and Ann) Meadows, both of England; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was a seamstress and homemaker.

She was a member of Browning United Methodist Church and coordinator for the Senior Meals Program in Browning.

Services were held Tuesday at her church with Rev. Robert Einhouse officiating. Burial was in Browning Cemetery. Wood Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
