DELLA EDNA (LAM) GROFF

Della Groff

Della Edna Groff, 93, of Springfield, Ore., died Monday, Nov. 7.

She was born Aug. 20, 1912, near Astoria, a daughter of Grover and Elaine Bucher Lam. She married Forrest U. Groff on June 1, 1936, in Astoria. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Elaine Lohman of Veneta, Ore., and Floralyn Groff-Perry of Missouri; two sons, Thayne of Brookings, Ore., and Arnold of Tennessee; two sisters, Velma Ritchie of Gaston, Ind., and Bessie Stauffer of Dayton, Ohio; two brothers, Robert Lam of Springville, Ill., and Wayne Lam of Smithshire, Ill.; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

She graduated from McPherson College in Kansas in 1965 at age 52.

She was a former pastor's wife and participated in the Church of the Brethren. She was a member of Church Women United, the Lydia Group and Applegate Annie's Red Hat Society. She was involved in community activities.

Services were held Nov. 11 at First Baptist Church in Springfield, Ore. Buell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
