Wanda GerardWanda C. Gerard, 85, of St. Louis, Mo., formerly of Grinnell, Iowa, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005, at St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis.

She was born Feb. 24, 1920, in Astoria, a daughter of Elmer and Daisy Skiles Belville. She married Clifford Gerard on July 23, 1945, in Grinnell. He preceded her in death.

She also was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are one daughter, Sharon Gerard of St. Louis; and two sons, Philip (and Susan) of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ivan (and Kay) of Omaha, Neb.; one sister, Juanita Genseal of Turlock, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

She graduated from North Central Bible College in 1943 and became an ordained minister in the Assemblies of God in 1945.

She served as a pastor in churches in Mount Ayr, Iowa, from 1954 to 1965, in Renault, Ill., from 1965 to 1977, and was a guest pastor following her retirement.

Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at noon Friday. Burial will be at Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma, Iowa.
