Donna Gant

Donna Jean Gant, 67, formerly of Pittsfield and Jacksonville, died May 31, 2005, in Barry.

She was born July 13, 1937, at the family home northeast of Griggsville, a daughter of Clifford and Elsie Wheeler Wainman.

She is survived by a special friend, Harry DeGroot of Jacksonville; one daughter, Linda Kay (and Stan) Stambaugh of Browning; three brothers, Bill (and Dorothy) Phillips of Clio, Mich., Rudy (and Karol) Wainman of Owensboro, Ky., and Richard Wainman of Griggsville; two sisters, Wanda (and Bob) McCallister of Jacksonville and Ruby (and Dr. B. J.) Rodriguez of Barry; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

She worked at the Brown Shoe Co. in Pittsfield for 16 years until its closing, then for the Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield as materials coordinator for 25 years until her retirement in 2002.

She was a member of Griggsville Church of the Nazarene.

Services were held Saturday at Cody & Son Memorial Home in Jacksonville, with burial at Chapin Cemetery.
