JOHN H. GODDARD

John Goddard

John H. Goddard, 75, of Astoria, formerly of Bushnell, died at 6:45 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at his home.

He was born June 13, 1929, in Huggins, Mo., a son of Nathan J. and Ressie L. Lybyer Goddard. He married Carolina J. Brown on July 28, 1951, in Bushnell. She died Jan. 27, 1992.

He also was preceded in death by one daughter, three brothers and one sister.

Surviving are two sons, Delbert of Bardolph and John E. of Rushville; four daughters, Emily Smith of Prairie City, Nellie Cook of Bushnell, and Maxine Bemount and Rosalie Sikes, both of Macomb; one sister, Nellie Walls of Hanna City; eight grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 13 stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was a truck driver for LeRoy Brown Refuse Removal in Macomb for several years.

He was a member of Astoria Church of Christ.

Services were held Sunday at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell with Eric Trone officiating. Burial was in Bushnell Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Astoria Rescue Squad, his church or Fulton County Hospice.
