Mildred Elizabeth Gibboney, 89, of Table Grove died at 3:17 a.m. Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb.
She was born July 16, 1911, in Table Grove, a daughter of Harrison and Ollie Mae Rector Strode. She married Leonard M. Gibboney on Sept. 17, 1932, in Macomb. He died Feb. 17, 1983.
She also was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Stroad Harn, and one foster brother, Eldon Kendrick.
Surviving are one godson, Arrel Keating of Treasure Island, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Liberty Beauty School in Peoria, she owned and operated a beauty shop in Table Grove for eight years and was a member of Illinois Cosmetology Association.
After moving to Milwaukee, she was employed by Federal Department Stores in personnel supervision for 24 years, retiring in 1970.
She was a member of AF&AM Shrine Triple Eye Temple in Milwaukee.
She was a member of Table Grove Community Church, where services were held Tuesday with Rev. Frank Bush officiating. Burial was in Harris Cemetery. Kost Memorial Home in Vermont was in charge of arrangements.
