VIRGINIA LEE (HERNDON) GRAHAM

Virginia Graham

Virginia Lee Graham, 77, of Adair died at 5:33 a.m. Monday, May 29, 2000, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born June 20, 1922, in Macomb, the daughter of Lee and Nellie Hollar Herndon. She married Leland K. Graham on Oct. 13, 1942, in Missouri. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Janet (and Garold) Parkins of Pittsfield and Ellen (and Patrick) Dowdall of Table Grove; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

She taught elementary school for many years, retiring in 1963. She also worked at Spurgeon's department store and the Agricultural Soil Conservation Service in Macomb.

She was a member of New Salem Home Extension Service and a former member of Adair United Brethren Church, where she played piano and organ.

Services were held today at 10:30 a.m. at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Rev. Jim Comstock officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb.

Memorials may be made to New Salem Christian Church or New Salem Rescue Squad.
