Donald I. Gorsage Sr., 70, of Lewistown died at 4:39 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, in the Graham Hospital emergency room in Canton.

He was born Feb. 8, 1930, in Table Grove, a son of Clarence Irvin and Frances Hovey Gorsage. He married Juanita Margaret Hanks. She died in 1965.

He later married Lois E. Burgard Coleman on June 13, 1972, in Lewistown. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Donald Jr. (and Michelle) of Canton and Robert of Lewistown; two stepsons, Joseph Coleman of Lewistown and Terry Coleman (and Elizabeth) of Washington, Mo.; one daughter, Patti Pascal of Lewistown; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one stepson, Lawrence Saylor, and one brother.

Elected in 1998, he was serving on the Fulton County Board at the time of his death. A Caterpillar Inc. employee for 30 years, he retired as a general foreman in 1980.

A Korean War Army veteran, he was a member of the Bartonville American Legion and was a social member of the Lewistown Veterans of Foreign Wars post.

He was a member of Canton Moose Lodge and was of the Christian faith.

Services were held Saturday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Walles officiating. Burial was in Harris Cemetery in Table Grove.

Memorials may be made to the Lewistown Rescue Squad.
