Harold Groves, 95, of Astoria, died at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 1996, at Astoria Healthcare Center.
He was born Nov. 15, 1900, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a son of Henry and Emma Trone Groves. He married Millicent Millard on Sept. 20, 1941 in Kahoka, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Nadine Groves of Astoria; one son, Dwane of Williamsfield; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, three sisters and one half sister.
He was a retired self-employed carpenter.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. James Shirley officiating. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 tonight at the memorial home. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Astoria Township Cemetery Association or Astoria Rescue Squad.
