RALPH NEWELL GILLMORE

Ralph Gillmore

Ralph Newell Gillmore, 82, of Springfield, former Browning area resident, died Thursday, June 1, 1995, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Dec. 13, 1912, in Junction City, a son of George Riley and Sylvia Deadmond Gillmore. He married Betty Catherine Craig on Oct. 10, 1937, in Salem. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Craig Hutchinson of Phoenix, Ariz., and Kenneth Gillmore of Corpus Christi, Texas; two daughters, Marilyn Moore of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Linda Sichlau of Rochester; one brother, Darrell Gillmore of Odin; one sister, Mildred Heinrich of Odin; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, David.

He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad as a yard clerk in Centralia and Beardstown. He retired January 1, 1978.

He was of the Methodist faith, and a former member of the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the chapel of Irvin Funeral Home in Odin, with Rev. Robert Foulk officiating. Burial was in Deadmond Cemetery. Irvin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
