Marcus Gorsage Dies At Age 73

Marcus R. Gorsage, formerly of Vermont, died in Danville, Ind. on Sunday, Jan. 14, 1990. Mr. Gorsage had been ill since just before Christmas when he was admitted to an Indianapolis hospital.

He was born in Vermont on Dec. 2, 1916, a son of William O. and Iva Abernathy Gorsage, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him were his brother Edward, of Pekin, and his sister Mildred (Thomason) of Show Low, Ariz. Survivors include his wife, Vera (Majors) of Danville, Ind., a daughter Mrs. Larry (Nancy) Steinmetz and two grandsons, Chris and Aaron, all of Danville, Ind.; a sister, Helen Kelley, formerly of Pekin, now of Joliet; and a brother, Bill of Hemet, Calif.

Mr. Gorsage was a June, 1933 graduate of Vermont High School after which he moved to Pekin and worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. of East Peoria before moving to South Bend, Ind. in 1941 where he was employed by Studebaker Motors. He later moved to Indianapolis and was employed as a manager for Ford Motor Co. until his retirement.

Funeral services were conducted by Weaver Funeral Home in Danville, Ind. on Tuesday, Jan. 16. Burial was in Danville.
