Jesse L. Goodwin, 83, of Rushville, died at 5:50 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, 1985, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 18, 1902, in Schuyler County to LeRoy and Annie E. Klein Goodwin, he married Olive V. Valentine Feb. 13, 1927, in Philo.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Herbert V. Goodwin of Gary, Ind., and J. Klein Goodwin of Hobart, Ind.; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Sarah) Bucko of Clearwater Beach, Fla., Mrs. Jon (Linda) Land of Gary, Mrs. F. Beach (Ada Jane) Leighton of Irvine, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Crystal Cathedral, Garden Grove, Calif.; Tri-County Travelers Inc., Good Sam Recreation Club and Illinois Sheriff’s Association.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Marvin Chalfant officiating. Burial will be in Rushville Cemetery.
