Trella Garrettson, 73, of Vermont died at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 1980 at Memorial Hospital in Springfield.
She was born Aug. 23, 1906, in Prairie City, a daughter of John and Lillie Lindsey Pennell. She married Floyd Garrettson on Aug. 17, 1925. He died July 12, 1944.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Wanda Danner of Ozark, Ala., Mrs. Betty Bucher of Astoria, Mrs. Ila Hadrin of Vermont, Mrs. Mary Irene Smith of Peoria, Mrs. Maxine Conner of Davenport, and Mrs. Thora Alvey of Ft. Pearce, Fla.; one son, John of Davenport; 40 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Chasteen of Canton and Mrs. Jennie Mason of Prairie City; and two brothers, Verl and Russell Pennell, both of Prairie City.
She was preceded in death by one son.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. this afternoon at the Astoria Christian Church with Rev. Ray Atrip officiating. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery.
