George Grigsby

IPAVA — Mrs. C. D. Snively was in Cuba, Friday, attending the funeral of George N. Grigsby, 81, who died at Santa Anna, Calif., Sunday, Sept. 8th and was brought to Cuba for burial. Services were held from the Taylor Memorial Chapel, conducted by Rev. F. Roy Doland at 2 o’clock. Mr. Grigsby was a native of Cuba in the 1880’s and was a bricklayer. He built the Methodist church at Cuba. He later engaged in real estate and insurance business in Peoria. He retired in 1928 and moved to Santa Anna. He was born in Cuba, Aug. 3, 1858, the son of William and Dorcas Collins Grigsby. In 1883 he married Annette Snively, who died April 20, 1928. She was a sister of the late Dr. C. D. Snively of Ipava.

Mr. Grigsby is survived by four sons, Bert J. and Owen E. Grigsby of Park Ridge, Ill., Marion W., of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Hugh of San Francisco, Calif., seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
