Professor Herbert Eugene Griffith head of the chemistry department of Knox college for 22 years died at the Galesburg hospital on July 7 following an operation necessitated by a semi-paralytic condition resulting from injuries received when he fell from a cherry tree Saturday night. Professor Griffith was one of the men honored by Northwestern University last month as a recipient of the degree of master of arts.
