She was born Dec. 30, 1950, in Beardstown, a daughter of Ray Lee and Bernitta Tillie Vincent Newbern. She married Charles R. Farwell on Aug. 9, 1992, in Beardstown. He survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Bernitta Newbern Wagner of Taylorville; one son, Samuel Heath Stephenson of Chicago; one brother, Wesley (and Mary Ann) Newbern of Beardstown; and three sisters, Patricia (and Dan) Casper of Springfield, Paula Wilson of Alexander and Vickie (and Chris) Oller of Morrisonville.
She was preceded in death by her father.
She graduated from Beardstown High School with the class of 1969. She then worked for the State of Illinois before beginning work for Oscar Mayer in July of 1974. She continued her career through Excel Corp. and Cargill Meat Solutions before retiring in 2010. After retirement, she traveled with her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Scott Egbers officiating. Inurnment will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
