Larry FinchLarry R. Finch, 79, of Rushville died at 12:40 p.m. Aug. 6, 2009, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born March 17, 1930, in Rushville, the son of Lorrence and Bertha Pelton Finch. He married Mary Alice Leonhard Fagan on Jan. 30, 1966, in Rushville. She died Aug. 16, 2003.

He also was preceded in death by one daughter, Debra S. Trone; and one grandson, Aaron Fagan.

Surviving are three children, Michele (and Terry) Frye of Jacksonville, Donna (and Ed) Page of Rushville and Mike (and Nedra) Fagan of Oxford, Iowa; and 15 grandchildren.

He worked at Caterpillar in Peoria and later at Boehm’s Market in Rushville for many years. In 1963, he began working as an electrician for Bohn Aluminum in Beardstown for 28 years, retiring in 1991. After retirement, he mowed for Scripps Park Golf Course.

He was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rushville, Scripps Park Wednesday Night Golf League, Rushville Lions Club and a charter member of Rushville Moose Lodge #506.

Services were held Monday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. John Sowers officiating. Cremation rights were accorded and private graveside inurnment services were held Tuesday at Rushville City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice, his church or Culbertson Memorial Hospital Foundation.
