Blanche FordBlanche C. “Babe” Ford, 85, of Lewistown died at 1:05 a.m. March 10, 2009, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born Aug. 29, 1923, in Lewistown, a daughter of Cliff and Jennie Vaughn Cyphers. She married Don L. Ford on July 14, 1940, in Iowa. He died Feb. 20, 1968.

She also was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are one son, Don (and Jenny) Ford of Evergreen, Colo.; two daughters, Jan Bordwine of Lisle and Jeanne (and Ron) Beebe of Lewistown; one sister, Evalyn Boyd of Lewistown; one nephew, Bud Cyphers of Lewistown; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She worked at Fulton County Abstract, Bath Brothers Clothing Store, D&D Red Fox, The Bon Ton, Fulton County Courthouse, and retired from Illinois Department of Public Aid.

Graveside services were held Saturday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with Rev. Danie deBeer officiating. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown was in charge of arrangements.
