Marie FosterMarie Elizabeth Foster, 94, of Rushville died at 9:01 a.m. Jan. 21, 2008, at Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.

She was born March 23, 1913, in Rushville, the daughter of Winnie Rinehart and Ethel Armstrong Ward. She married Vale Francis Foster on April 18, 1938, in Palmyra, Mo. He died Jan. 30, 1993.

Surviving are five cousins, Betty Cunningham Peterson of Arizona, Sarah Cunningham McCutcheon of Indiana, Marilyn Stephens Headley of Virginia, Tim W. Stephens of Washington and Judy Stephens Williams of Florida.

She graduated from Rushville High school in 1930.

She was a member of Rushville First Christian Church “Disciples of Christ.”

She farmed with her father; worked for Paul Stephens, Stephens Clothing Store; Bob Stephens, Stephens Men’s Ware and The Sally Shop; Bartlow Brothers Meat Packing; Tom Newell, Newell’s Restaurant; and Rushville Times.

Services were held Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with David Haney officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
