Karl E. Ford, 56, of Rushville died at 10:40 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2004, at his residence.

He was born October 13, 1948, in Rushville, the son of Leslie E. and Roberta Spates Ford. He married Julie A. Corwell on June 8, 1985, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Eric of Rushville, and Joshua and Kristopher, both at home; and one sister, Jeanine (and Larry) Morrell of Marquette Heights.

He served in the United States Air Force from April 1968 to October 1971.

He worked at Bohn Aluminum for several years, owned and operated Ford's Rhythm Lanes, farmed for William Demaree, owned and operated K&M Archery, and worked for Davis Electric.

He was a former member and chief of the Rushville Fire Department and was a founding member of the Full Draw Archery Club. He also was a member of Rushville Moose Lodge #506, Beardstown Elks Lodge #1007, Schuyler American Legion Post #4, Ducks Unlimited, the National Wild Turkey Federation and ABC Bowling Association.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Worthington Funeral Home with David Haney officiating. Burial will be in the Rushville City Cemetery, where Schuyler American Legion Post #4 will conduct military services.

Memorials may be made to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice, Schuyler Track and Field Association, or Boy Scout Troop #35.
