Maxine I. Flaherty, 88, of Astoria died at 3:55 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at Astoria Gardens.
She was born Sept. 16, 1913, in Astoria, the daughter of Harvey and Edith Falkenstein Etter. She married Thomas F. Flaherty Jr. on Nov. 20, 1937, in Valparaiso, Ind. He died July 24, 1985.
She also was preceded in death by three brothers.
Surviving are one son, Charles (and Margaret) of Waukegan; one daughter, Mary Johnson of Santa Clarita, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
She had been a bookkeeper for various Chicago area companies, including ABC-TV.
Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Marian Stone officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
