Oren Flynn, 62, of Vermont, died at 4:55 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

He was born Dec. 7, 1936, in Huntley, a son of Oren and Iva Flynn. He married Rachel Heflin on Dec. 20, 1956, in Capron. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Alan (Rose) of Abingdon and Richard (Elke) of Adair; two daughters, Rachael McIntosh of Portland, Ore., and Alice Flynn of Vermont; one sister, Dorren Moran of Wisconsin; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Several brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

He farmed in McDonough County most of his life and in Vermont for the past seven years.

He was a member of the NKC Coon Hunters Club.

Cremation has been accorded. Graveside services were held Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb with Chaplain Ron Green officiating. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Macomb American Legion and the Macomb Veterans of Foreign Wars. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of arrangements.
