Charles Feller

Charles Leland Feller Jr., 60, of Peoria, died at 10:44 a.m. Friday, May 16, 1997, at his home.

He was born Oct. 13, 1936, in Thebes, a son of Charles Leland and Mary Catherine Bower Feller Sr.

Surviving are his parents of Fairfield; one son, Robin Robert of Washington; two daughters, Cindy Nauman of Peoria and Marti Witmer of Mesa, Ariz.; five grandchildren; one brother, Bob Feller of Columbia, Mo.; and three sisters, Joyce Stone of Manito, and Iva Mae Clark and Diane Witwer, both of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by one son, Rodney Feller and one brother.

He graduated from Astoria High School in 1954, then received his bachelor of science degree from Western Illinois University. He taught freshman English at Lewistown Communitiy High School for 32 years. He also worked for the TP&W Railroad in East Peoria for many years. A member of Laborers Local 165, he worked summers for R.A. Cullinan & Son Inc., C.A. Iber & Son and Canton Contractors. He last was an agent for Shelter Insurance Co. in Peoria for six years. He was a member of Mount Olive Missionary Church and the Christian Businessmen’s Association.

Services were held Monday at Endsley Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Rev. Ray Harrison officiating. Burial was in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
