Mildred A. Foster, 88, of Morton, formerly of Vermont, died at 1:34 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 1996, at Morton Terrace Nursing Home in Morton.
She was born Aug. 16, 1908, in Ipava, a daughter of Gilbert and Anna Smith Cleer. She married Marcus E. Foster on Sept. 8, 1927, in Davenport, Iowa. He died June 8, 1989. She was preceded in death by seven brothers, and one sister.
Surviving are two sons, Donald M. Foster of Naples, Fla., and Norman E. Foster, of Morton; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was a sales clerk for 13 years at Montgomery Wards in Macomb. She was a member of the Vermont United Methodist Church and also a member of Rebecca’s Lodge in Vermont for over 53 years.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Vermont United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Christian officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the Ludwig-Rohrschneider Mortuary in Morton and one hour prior to services Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Vermont Cemetery.
