Virgil Raymond Foster, Sr., 83, of Vermont, died at 12:05 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 1985, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
He was born Aug. 14, 1901, in Hyndman, Pa., the son of William and Lydia Walters Foster. He first married Olive Bryan on June 15, 1932, in Macomb. They were divorced in 1959. He then married Goldie McCord on Oct. 9, 1968, in Palmyra, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Virgil Foster, Jr., of Table Grove; one daughter, Norma Jean Foster of Macomb; and two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Walker of Canton and Mrs. Eleanor Hollister of Bloomfield, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
He worked as a carpenter and a laborer, and also was a castings inspector at the Ken-Ray Foundry in Vermont.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Vermont.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. this afternoon at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont with Rev. Tom Wilber officiating. Burial will be in Vermont Cemetery.
