Otis Fleming Dies At Age 82

Otis Fleming, 82, of 701 S. Jefferson, Lewistown, died at 11:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, 1982, in Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born Nov. 14, 1889, in Ipava, the son of Harry and Olive (Adam) Fleming. He married Gayle Bedwell in 1921. She died in 1928. He then married Faye Borrows in 1943. She died in 1978.

Survivors include two granddaughters, five great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Sarah Baxter of Cincinnati, Ohio.

One son and one brother also died earlier.

Mr. Fleming was a retired grocery store clerk. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he had been board president. He was a 50-year member of Ipava Masonic Lodge, a member of Havana Order of Eastern Star and Lewistown Historical Society. He had been active in operating the Rasmussen Blacksmith Shop in Lewistown.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, at the First United Methodist Church in Lewistown with Rev. Walter Pruett officiating. Burial was in the Ipava Cemetery.
