Mrs. Ruth Hunter Foster, 85, of Oakland, Calif., died on the evening of June 10, 1975 after a long illness.
She was born on March 26, 1890 in Table Grove, a daughter of John Hiram and Esmarelda Bradfield Hunter. She married Grover C. Foster of Vermont and lived there several years before moving to the western states. Mr. Foster was a teacher. He died on Sept. 5, 1966.
Mrs. Foster was a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and was active in church women’s work until she retired to the Altenheim Home after her husband’s death.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Marjorie) Nichols, of Napa, Calif.; and five grandchildren. Another daughter, Margaret, died as a small child.
Burial will be in the Vermont Cemetery at a later date.
