Fred Falkenstein Of Belvidere Dies

Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Etter received word of the death of her cousin, Fred Falkenstein, 64, of Belvidere. He died at his home on July 21 following a year’s illness.

He was a former secretary of the Belvidere Chamber of Commerce and in the labor relations department at Sundstrand Corporation.

He was born Feb. 9, 1906 at Astoria, a son of Clamer and Zada Howard Falkenstein. He was educated at Astoria schools and attended Loyola University at Chicago. On Jan. 30, 1937, he married the former Laura Bingoe at Rockford. He had lived in Belvidere for the past 22 years.

He was a member of Bel-Mar Country Club, and a former member of the I.O.U. Club, Rotary Club and Moose Club.

Surviving in addition to his widow is a daughter, Mrs. Donna Jo Wait, Genoa, three granddaughters and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Waetcher and Mrs. Addie Falkenstein and a grandson, Andrew Wait.

Funeral services were held at Witbeck-Wheeler-Sabien Funeral Home with Rev. C. K. McCarren of St. James Church officiating. Interment was in St. James Cemetery.
