Services Held For Mary L. Falkenstein

Family services for Mrs. Dwight O. (Mary L.) Falkenstein, 73, of 709 Division Street, Barrington, were held Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1965, at the Stirlen-Pieper Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St., Barrington.

The Rev. Herbert H. Heinemann, pastor of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, officiated at the rites. Entombment took place at the Astoria Memorial Mausoleum at Astoria, Ill., on Wednesday, Dec. 8.

Mrs. Falkenstein died Sunday, Dec. 5, at Sherman Hospital, Elgin, Ill., where she had been a patient for five weeks.

Mary L. Burgard, daughter of the late William H. and Amanda Burgard, was born January 19, 1892, at Astoria, and was married to Mr. Falkenstein on June 4, 1914, at Galesburg, Ill. The couple resided in Chicago, Iowa, Kansas and for the past eight years in Barrington. In recent years they spent the winter seasons in California. She was a member of the Barrington American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving besides her husband, Dwight, are a daughter, Mrs. Donald W. (Jane) Staehlin of Barrington, a son, Philip D. Falkenstein of Broadview; and three grandchildren.
