Former Astoria Resident Dies In Canton

Lewis F. Falkenstein, 76, Canton, a medical patient since Aug. 23, in the Graham hospital, died at 5:30 o’clock Wednesday evening of last week.

Mr. Falkenstein was born Dec. 27, 1874 in Astoria, the son of Benjamin G. and Kathryn McClung Falkenstein. He was married in June, 1898, to Virginia Baxter, who preceded him in death. Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Harman, San Diego, Calif.; three grandchildren, Mrs. Marilyn Adams, London, England; Mrs. Virginia Roth, Annapolis, Md.; and Bob Harman, San Diego, Calif.; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ed Falkenstein, Browning and Will Falkenstein, Belvidere, and a sister Mrs. Minnie Horner, Canton.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Horton Funeral home in Astoria. Burial in Astoria cemetery.
