LONNIE FOOTE JR.

Lonnie Foote Jr.

Wednesday morning of last week, between the hours of 10 and 11 o’clock, on the Sherman McLouth farm southeast of Canton, occurred one of the most terrible affairs in the history of the county, when Lonnie Junior Foote, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Foote was killed by hogs. The child was about three years of age. He had been in the house with his mother all morning and had been gone only a short time when his mother missed him. A search was made which resulted in his body being found by his grandfather, in a cornfield where a number of sows and their pigs are kept. The head had been completely torn from the body, both lower limbs were gone. The arms had been torn from the body and most of the flesh eaten away. The boy had had a liking for little pigs which he wanted for pets and it is thought he attempted to catch one and was attacked by the mother hogs. The parents were nearly overcome by grief.
