MARIA (CLARKE) FRANKLIN

Maria Franklin

Died — In Macomb, on Sunday, Sept. 5, 1886, Mrs. Maria Franklin, aged 65 years, 3 months and 29 days.

The deceased was the beloved wife of William Harrison Franklin, an old resident of Macomb. She was a daughter of James and Polly Clarke. Mrs. Franklin came to Illinois in 1829, with her parents. She was united in marriage with W. H. Franklin, April 1, 1841. Her husband survives her, as does also four children — W. J., of Junction City, Kansas; John H., of Russel, Kansas; George A., of Macomb, and Harry, of Russel, Kansas. Mrs. Franklin united with the Christian church when quite young, and has lived a christian life. Some months ago she had an arm amputated on account of rheumatism, since which time her health has rapidly failed.
