He was born June 7, 1945, in Redwood City, Calif., a son of Robert B. Sr. and Phyllis Johnson Einhouse. He grew up in California but moved to Illinois in 1974. He married Nancy K. Collison in 1974. She preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 2012.
Surviving are two daughters, Jolene (and Michael) Stephens of Springfield and Robin Walden of Jacksonville; one brother, Eric (and Sylvia) Einhouse of Florence, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.
He earned his Master of Divinity at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston. He was an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church, having served in Central Illinois for over 30 years. He donated many hours of his life to the Lion’s Club, Shriners, Meals on Wheels and many other philanthropic endeavors. He was a railroad enthusiast.
Cremation was provided by Lincoln Land Cremation Society. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 6439 Canadian Cross Dr., Springfield. Inurnment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date.
