Tom Eifert

Tom EifertTom Eifert, 67, of Rushville died at 5:57 p.m. Feb. 13, 2020, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Oct. 11, 1952, in Springfield, a son of H. Nelson and Evelyn Kiser Eifert. He married Dianna Etter on Dec. 15, 1973, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Corrie (and Danielle) Eifert of Camp Point, Amy (and Andy) Kerr of Kirkwood, Mo., and Derek (and Laura) Eifert of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one brother, Timothy Alan (and Dana) Eifert of Industry; two sisters, Nancy (and Wayne) Marrs of Paris, Ill., and Carol (and Steve) Huett of Rushville; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Dannie William Eifert.

He was a 1970 graduate of Rushville High School and 1972 graduate of Spoon River College. He began his career with FS as a spray applicator and truck driver. In 1985, he was promoted to fuel salesman, for which he won many awards. He retired in January, 2016, from Prairieland FS.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rushville.

He was a big supporter of the Rushville FFA and for many years, allowed them to use his field to grow sweet corn to sell.

Services were held Tuesday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with David Haney officiating.
